Amazon Aurora Serverless Now Scales Faster to Support Agentic AI and Other Bursty Workloads
AWS, Wednesday, August 5th, 2026
Amazon Aurora serverless scales to 12 ACUs within a second to serve bursty agentic AI workloads.
Amazon Aurora serverless now delivers higher initial capacity during scale-up events, reaching up to 12 Aurora Capacity Units within a second and continuing to scale to 256 ACUs as the workload grows.
When the workload finishes, Aurora serverless automatically scales back down to zero. The faster ramp makes the service better suited to agentic AI and other bursty workloads that arrive without warning.
Customers avoid over-provisioning to absorb spikes while still paying nothing when idle.
