Cloudflare has announced Cloudflare Wallets, a programmable wallet built for what the company calls the agentic Internet.
The service will give AI agents native payment capability and verifiable identity on the web. Using the x402 protocol, agents can autonomously purchase APIs and content within clearly defined safety guardrails.
The guardrails matter because autonomous spending without limits is a significant operational and financial risk.
