NVIDIA and founding members formed the Open Secure AI Alliance to build and share open tools that promote responsible use of and trust in AI.
Open source software underpins cloud computing, financial services, manufacturing, telecommunications, government, and internet services by making technology accessible and observable to communities of experts, and cybersecurity ranks among its top three beneficiaries.
The alliance builds on the Linux Foundation's Akrites initiative and OpenSSF community work, and will focus on remediating and disclosing vulnerabilities using open technologies. The founders frame the effort as creating a shared open foundation for AI security comparable to what open source created for software.
