Fewer than half of workers in the majority of affected occupations actually use AI tools, and only 15% of occupations exceed a 70% adoption rate.
Heavy usage concentrates in computer-related and professional finance roles, while personal service and manual labor occupations show minimal uptake.
The researchers also observe that experience with AI in one domain appears to drive adoption in others, suggesting familiarity is a key lever for broader integration.
