Build Programmatic Agents with the Cursor SDK

Cursor, April 29,2026

Cursor introduces a public beta SDK for building and deploying coding agents programmatically across local, cloud, and self-hosted environments.

Cursor has launched its SDK in public beta, enabling developers to build programmatic agents using the same runtime, harness, and models powering Cursor's desktop, CLI, and web applications. The SDK supports deployment on Cursor's cloud infrastructure with dedicated VMs, self-hosted workers, or local machines, with access to all supported models including the efficient Composer 2.

Developers can leverage Cursor's full feature set including intelligent context management, MCP servers, skills, hooks, and subagents, while teams use the SDK for CI/CD automation, code review, and embedding agents into customer-facing products. The SDK is available to all users with standard token-based consumption pricing and includes starter projects and documentation to help developers get started.
