Google Vids gains Gemini Omni text-to-video generation and editing plus personal avatars built from a selfie and voice sample.
Google announced two AI additions to Google Vids. Gemini Omni lets users generate and edit high-quality video from a natural language prompt, optionally guided by an image reference or rough sketch, and supports step-by-step edits like swapping backgrounds, fixing lighting, or adding effects without starting over.
Personal avatars let a user upload a selfie and a short voice recording, then type a script that the avatar delivers on camera with no filming required.
Every AI-generated clip carries an invisible SynthID watermark for transparency. The features are available to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers and Workspace business customers, with avatars limited to certain regions and users 18 and older.
