Japan's Robotics and Manufacturing Leaders Build on NVIDIA Cosmos to Advance Physical AI Frontier

NVIDIA unveiled Cosmos 3 Edge, a 4B-parameter on-device vision reasoning model, as Japanese manufacturers adopt its physical AI stack.
NVIDIA announced that Japan's robotics and manufacturing leaders are building on its physical AI platforms, including Cosmos, Isaac, Metropolis and Jetson, to deploy intelligent machines.
Central to the news is Cosmos 3 Edge, a 4-billion-parameter model that enables on-device vision reasoning and robot policy deployment at the edge, running on NVIDIA Jetson, RTX and DGX systems. NVIDIA says developers can adapt the model to specific robots and environments in about a day.
More than 20 Japanese companies, among them FANUC, Fujitsu, Hitachi, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Sony and Yaskawa Electric, intend to join the NVIDIA Cosmos Coalition to advance open world models.
Applications span manufacturing automation, agriculture, healthcare robotics and construction safety.
