Japan's Enterprises and Startups Build Industry-Specialized AI With NVIDIA Nemotron Open Models

Japanese enterprises and research institutions are building Japanese-language, industry-specific AI models on NVIDIA Nemotron open models.

NVIDIA announced that Japanese enterprises, startups and research institutions are developing industry-specialized AI using its Nemotron open models, data and libraries.

Adopters include the Institute of Science Tokyo and SoftBank Corp., alongside companies building Japanese-language applications.

Examples cited include avatarin creating speech-capable enterprise AI agents for airports, ENEOS Holdings advancing materials research via agentic AI workflows, NTT DATA enhancing its proprietary models, and Hitachi developing physical AI for operational coordination.

Sakana AI integrated Nemotron into its Fugu orchestration platform to dynamically select optimal models per task. Jensen Huang emphasized that every nation and company should own and control its own intelligence.
