Proofpoint launches SSO Password Guard, a browser-based control that warns users the instant they reuse a corporate password on an unsanctioned site.
Proofpoint introduced SSO Password Guard, a capability aimed at the narrow window between credential exposure and account takeover.
The company notes that 99% of organizations were targeted by account takeover attacks last year, yet most tooling either blocks threats before they reach users or detects compromise after the fact.
SSO Password Guard establishes a reference point during legitimate authentication, detects real-time corporate password reuse on non-corporate sites, and alerts the user through in-browser notifications.
It ships via the already-deployed ZenWeb extension, so no additional infrastructure or agents are required. The feature is included in Collaboration Security Tier 2, Tier 3, and Prime.
