AMD 6th Gen EPYC Venice: 256 Cores, 1.6TB/s, and the First PCIe Gen 6 Server CPU

StorageReview, Thursday, July 23rd, 2026

AMD launches Venice, a server CPU portfolio with up to 256 cores, 1.6TB/s memory bandwidth and industry-first PCIe Gen 6.

AMD's 6th Gen EPYC Venice is a four-product server CPU lineup spanning general-purpose, GPU-hosting, HPC and dense-compute tiers.

The flagship 256-core part delivers roughly double Intel's throughput at comparable pricing and about a 20% per-core advantage over NVIDIA's Vera CPU.

Venice provides 1.9x to 2.2x more cores per rack than competing platforms while introducing PCIe Gen 6 connectivity and improved power management. Availability begins in Q4 2026, with additional SKUs rolling out through 2027.
