AWS Direct Connect Now Supports BGP Route Visibility on Virtual Interfaces
AWS, Thursday, July 30th, 2026
Direct Connect customers can now see which routes AWS accepted from and advertised to their on-premises routers.
AWS Direct Connect now provides Border Gateway Protocol route visibility across private, transit, and public virtual interfaces. Customers can see which routes AWS accepted from their on-premises routers and which routes AWS is advertising back.
Previously this required correlating router-side state with inferred AWS behavior, which made asymmetric routing and filtered-prefix problems slow to diagnose. The visibility is exposed per virtual interface.
It is a troubleshooting improvement for hybrid network operators rather than a data-plane change.
