NVIDIA and dozens of founding partners launch the Open Secure AI Alliance to build shared open tools for cyber defense.
NVIDIA and a large group of founding members have formed the Open Secure AI Alliance to develop and share open technologies and tools for safeguarding software and AI agents.
Building on the Linux Foundation's Akrites initiative and OpenSSF work, the alliance will focus on remediating and disclosing vulnerabilities using open technologies.
Backers argue open models and harnesses are essential to cybersecurity because they democratize defensive capability, increase transparency, and avoid single points of failure.
The group cites the recent Hugging Face incident, where closed tools blocked forensic analysis and an open-weight model run on-premises contained the intrusion. Inaugural partners include Cisco, CrowdStrike, Dell Technologies, GitHub, IBM, Microsoft, and Red Hat.
