OpenAI frames the release around a narrowing cyber defence window, arguing defenders need frontier capability to keep pace.
Daybreak Red carries stricter identity verification and access controls than the general Daybreak tier because of its lower refusal threshold. The announcement is part of a broader expansion of the Daybreak programme.
