Kubernetes on Oxide: How Customer Needs Shaped Our Integrations
Oxide Computer, Thursday, August 13th, 2026
Oxide Computer describes how customer demand shaped its supported Kubernetes integrations.
Oxide Computer published an account of building its Kubernetes integrations. In late 2024 customers and prospects were eager to run Kubernetes on Oxide, but the company had no supported integrations to help them do it.
Oxide argues Kubernetes and its platform are a natural fit: Kubernetes defines expected infrastructure behaviour through standard extension points, while Oxide exposes the primitives needed to implement that behaviour through APIs.
The foundation for integration existed, but the software and an understanding of customer needs did not. The post covers how those requirements shaped what Oxide built.
