TechTarget, Tuesday, August 19th, 2025
Google Cloud targets full post-quantum cryptography readiness by 2029, in three priority tracks.
Google Cloud published an updated roadmap for migrating its infrastructure to post-quantum cryptography, targeting full readiness by 2029.
The work is organized into three priority areas: mitigating Store Now Decrypt Later risk, hardening digital signatures against forgery, and building cryptographic agility.
Milestones include completing SNDL mitigation across customer-facing workloads by the end of 2027, and signature integrity plus foundational key management by the end of 2028.
Google notes the effort will continue into the 2030s as standards evolve, which gives enterprise teams a concrete timeline to plan their own migrations against.
