Connect AI Agents to Your Telemetry With the Observe MCP Server and CLI

Snowflake, Thursday, August 13th, 2026

Observe by Snowflake's redesigned MCP server and new CLI reach general availability for agent-driven telemetry access.

Snowflake announced general availability of the redesigned Observe by Snowflake MCP server plus a new Observe CLI with full parity to the MCP, rolling out across all clusters.

Every operation the MCP server exposes to agents is also available as a CLI command. The premise is that humans may no longer be the primary readers of telemetry, since coding assistants can investigate errors before an engineer opens a ticket and AI SREs can correlate failures without being paged.

Observability must therefore serve both humans and agents through APIs, MCP and CLI rather than only a UI. Snowflake cites engineers building alert-triage agents that query Observe automatically when an alert fires.
