Securing the Memory Layer: How Broadcom and AMD Are Bringing Confidential Computing to the Enterprise

Broadcom, Thursday, August 27th, 2026

Broadcom and AMD extend confidential computing to protect data while it is being processed in memory.

Security teams have spent years building strong protections around data at rest and in transit: disk encryption, network encryption, strict access controls and continuous monitoring are all standard. But the moment a workload starts processing data, that protection largely disappears, because the data must be decrypted in memory to be used.

Broadcom argues this gap matters most for organizations handling regulated data, running AI models on sensitive inputs, or operating in environments with sovereignty requirements.

The post describes how Broadcom and AMD are bringing confidential computing to enterprise virtualization so the memory layer itself is protected during execution.
