The Next Cybersecurity Battleground Is Inside the Processor
Dover Microsystems has developed CoreGuard, a hardware-based security solution that emerged from DARPA's $100 million CRASH program, enabling processors to actively enforce security policies rather than blindly executing instructions.
The technology functions as silicon IP that monitors every instruction against programmable rules called micropolicies, preventing execution of prohibited operations.
Founded by serial entrepreneur Jothy Rosenberg, Dover holds 17 patents and has engaged semiconductor companies like NXP since 2018.
As AI systems and connected infrastructure become increasingly critical, processor-level security enforcement addresses the structural limitation that software has bugs while hardware cannot be manipulated in the same way.
