OpenAI launched ChatGPT for Financial Services, which pairs built-in financial data with GPT-6 Astra reasoning for research, modeling and producing client-ready materials.
The product was shaped through design partnerships with firms including Morgan Stanley and Evercore. Built-in data with citations is the notable element, since it addresses the verification problem that has limited LLM use in regulated financial work.
Compliance teams will want to examine how citations are generated and whether the underlying data licences permit the downstream uses analysts will attempt.
