Chalmers researchers propose a method to run bosonic-code quantum operations in one driving cycle, over 1,000 times faster.
Researchers at Chalmers University of Technology have proposed a way to perform a wide range of operations on bosonic quantum codes within a single driving cycle instead of thousands.
Bosonic codes store quantum information in microwave fields in superconducting circuits and offer stronger protection against certain errors, but controlling them has been slow. The approach uses quantum lattice gates with single-period Floquet control, reducing the time errors can accumulate.
Published in Physical Review Letters, the theoretical work suits existing superconducting platforms, and experimental demonstrations are being discussed.
