AWS makes second-gen single-rack Outposts GA, packing up to 2,688 vCPUs and 100TB of EBS into one 42U rack.
AWS has made second-generation single-rack Outposts generally available, combining compute, storage, and networking in a self-contained 42U rack with up to 2,688 vCPUs and 100 TB of Amazon EBS.
It uses the same APIs, console, governance, and security controls as AWS Regions, targeting sites needing low latency, local processing, or data residency without space for multi-rack deployments.
Supported instances include 7th- and 8th-generation Intel-based C, M, and R families. Bare-metal accelerated networking instances with AMD Solarflare and NVIDIA ConnectX-7 NICs, offering up to 800 Gbps, target capital markets and telecom 5G core workloads.
