NVIDIA Goes Green to Keep Grid Capacity from Zapping Its Revenues

The Register argues NVIDIA's ability to sell GPUs is ultimately bounded by how much power the grid can deliver, a constraint worsened by lengthening depreciation cycles that keep aging Hopper and Blackwell fleets online.
Dion Harris, NVIDIA's senior director of HPC and AI hyperscale infrastructure solutions, told the publication the company is trying to extract every bit of efficiency to raise performance per gigawatt.
At the AI Infra Summit, NVIDIA showed the systems and reference designs it has built to help neocloud operators construct more efficient facilities. The Register frames the effort as another walled garden.
