Barracuda announced AI Data Security, a new product designed to let organizations adopt generative AI safely by inspecting prompts and data uploads before they reach AI tools.
The company notes that 88% of organizations now use GenAI but only 21% have mature governance in place. Rather than blocking AI outright, which can drive risky shadow AI use, the product detects sensitive information such as credentials and customer data, blocking unsafe interactions while keeping audit trails.
It integrates into the BarracudaONE ecosystem and targets managed service providers and midmarket organizations with a simple, cost-effective design.
