Should CIOs Bet on Meta's New Enterprise Technology Push?
TechTarget, Thursday, October 15th, 2026
Analysts weigh whether CIOs should trust Meta's new Enterprise Platform for AI agents given its customer reach and weak trust record.
Meta launched its Meta Enterprise Platform on Sept. 28, a business unit led by former MongoDB CEO CJ Desai that offers AI agents and developer tools to companies.
Analysts quoted say Meta enters a crowded field against Microsoft, Google, OpenAI, Anthropic and Salesforce, and its biggest edge is that it owns the chat channels where customers already show up, such as WhatsApp and Instagram.
The main drawback is trust, given Meta's record on privacy.
One analyst suggests the real shortlist question is whether Meta should run the agent that talks to customers on Meta's own apps, not whether it replaces Copilot or Agentforce.
