Move Fast, Don't Break Trust: Shipping Constantly with Humans and Beyond

InfoQ, Friday, October 23rd, 2026

Monzo's Suhail Patel explains how an opinionated internal platform lets engineers and LLMs ship safely hundreds of times a day.

In this InfoQ presentation, Monzo staff engineer Suhail Patel describes how the bank organizes engineering and its platform to deploy continuously in a regulated industry.

Monzo runs thousands of microservices on Kubernetes, Cassandra and etcd.

Patel credits opinionated microservice abstractions, tenancy-based staging, static analysis checks and continuous profiling.

He argues that because code generation is now cheap and parallel, the platform's guardrails, not implementation time, decide how safely both humans and AI agents can iterate.
