Agentic AI Is Moving Fast. Enterprise Infrastructure Needs to Move With It

Intel, Tuesday, October 27th, 2026

An Intel-commissioned IDC study finds enterprises expect agentic AI to matter soon but infrastructure readiness and funding lag.

Intel cites IDC research it commissioned showing 89% of IT decision makers expect agentic AI to matter to their responsibilities within 12 to 24 months.

Only 56% say their agentic AI infrastructure is well or adequately funded, the least-funded category tested, and modernizing or consolidating data center infrastructure is the top IT priority at 45%.

Most respondents take a balanced approach between private IT and public cloud.

Intel argues agentic AI is a systems problem rather than a GPU-only problem and says x86 led Arm on nine of 12 attributes in the survey.
