Mythos Access Is Expanding: What This Means for Vulnerability Management

Sysdig, Tuesday, October 27th, 2026

Sysdig says expanding Claude Mythos access raises vulnerability discovery but core vulnerability management practices still apply.

Sysdig notes Anthropic released Claude Mythos 5.1 in September and in October folded Project Glasswing into a tiered Cyber Verification Program, with Glasswing partners reportedly finding over 129,000 verified vulnerabilities between April and July.

The author stresses that finding vulnerabilities differs from exploiting them, as the generally available model is restricted from exploit development and penetration testing is limited to the most vetted tiers.

Citing Mandiant data that exploitation can begin before disclosure, the article concludes the fundamentals still apply: scan everything in one place, prioritize what is in use and exploitable, remediate at the source, and use runtime security as a backstop.
