Spectra Logic Introduces Storage Reclaim to Help Organizations Recover Flash and Disk Capacity They Already Own

Spectra Logic launched Storage Reclaim, which moves inactive data off flash and disk to a protected tier so firms can delay buying more capacity.
In a press release, Spectra Logic announced Spectra Storage Reclaim, a capacity optimization offering aimed at extending the life of existing storage as flash and disk prices rise sharply.
It works in four steps: a read-only analysis of inactive data, policies to select what should move, policy-based movement using Spectra StorCycle or partner tools such as Komprise, Starfish Storage and rclone, and reclaiming freed capacity for active workloads.
Spectra BlackPearl Object Gateway and Spectra tape provide the long-term retention tier.
The company positions it for infrastructure teams facing capacity, refresh or budget decisions.
