AWS Lambda Durable Functions Now Exports Live Telemetry for Execution Insights
AWS, Wednesday, October 28th, 2026
AWS Lambda durable functions get a Telemetry Exporter plugin and an MCP server so AI agents can query execution history.
AWS released the Durable Execution Telemetry Exporter plugin, which captures step-by-step history of Lambda durable function executions and sends it to 13 built-in destinations, including CloudWatch Logs, S3 for Athena, DynamoDB, Aurora and OpenSearch.
Exported data covers execution status, operation timing, step input and output, and errors, and can be kept past standard retention, with sensitive fields redactable and a configurable sampling rate.
A companion MCP server lets agents such as Kiro query the data in natural language.
It supports TypeScript, Python, Java and Go and costs nothing extra.
