Agents Don't Fail on Models. They Fail on Context

Dell, Wednesday, October 28th, 2026

Dell says AI agents fail on scattered context, not reasoning, and plans to support NVIDIA's Agent Knowledge Foundation in its AI Data Platform.

In this Dell product post, Chhandomay Mandal argues that AI agents struggle because business context, definitions and lineage sit in separate tools, which adds latency and token cost and produces answers that are hard to trace.

The Dell AI Data Platform aims to provide one governed context layer, using four data engines for analytics, processing, search and orchestration, plus PowerScale, ObjectScale and Lightning File System storage.

Dell plans to support NVIDIA's Agent Knowledge Foundation, announced at GTC Berlin, including Nemotron Retriever models, Auto-Ontology and CUDA-X libraries, which customers can adopt individually.

Dell stresses an open design in which customers bring their own models, ontology and agent framework.
