Advancing SAP Lakehouse and New Data Fabric Innovations in SAP Business Data Cloud for the Autonomous Enterprise

SAP adds native Apache Iceberg support and an Apache Polaris catalog to Business Data Cloud, plus data fabric features for AI agents.
At TechEd, SAP said Business Data Cloud, the data foundation for SAP Business AI Platform, connects data, semantics, processes and policies so agents can make sound decisions.
New lakehouse features include native Apache Iceberg support and a universal catalog powered by Apache Polaris, giving users and Joule open, governed access to distributed data without duplicating copies.
Together with SAP BDC Connect, this supports zero-copy data sharing with partners including Databricks and Snowflake.
The aim is to give agents trusted business entities and the relationships, processes and rules behind them.
